There are fine leathers, and then there is Shell Cordovan. Drawn from a dense fibrous membrane found only in the hindquarters of the horse, it is among the rarest materials in luxury shoemaking — tanned, oiled and hand-polished over several months by specialist artisans working to methods refined across generations. The Gepetto Shell Cordovan is the summit of Lastsole's craft: the purest expression of what Portuguese hand shoemaking, and its decades of accumulated know-how, can achieve.

In deep navy, the shell develops a lustre that no artificial coating can imitate. Where ordinary leathers crease, Cordovan forms soft, rolling waves; with wear, the colour grows richer and the shine more profound, building a patina that belongs to its owner alone. Each pair is cut, lasted and finished by hand in Portugal, one at a time.

Inside, an extra-soft metal-free calf lining and a natural cork base settle to the foot from the first wear. Biodegradable structural components hold the silhouette with lightness, while the Lactae Hevea® sole — poured from 100% natural hevea milk — returns over 80% of the energy of every step. A removable insole, lined in soft sheepskin over natural latex, completes the construction.

This is not simply a sneaker in exceptional leather. It is a piece of shoemaking heritage, made to be worn for many years — and to look better for every one of them.
